Use case · Equipment integration

Your product talks to hardware. Ordinary Android will not let it.

Standard Android stops an app reaching a serial port or a GPIO pin. The usual workaround, rooting the device, throws away its security. We grant your app the specific access it needs and keep everything else locked down.

What your app can reach

Serial and USB-serial instruments

Scales, medical and laboratory instruments, PLCs and industrial controllers, payment terminals, meters, printers and scanners.

GPIO and relays

Door strikes and access control, signage, vending and dispensing, sensors.

USB peripherals over OTG

Including devices that need kernel driver work before they function on ordinary Android.

Location and geofencing

Every unit carries GNSS, so a device can know when it has left the site and lock itself.

Hardware you already own

Custom kernel drivers for non-standard or proprietary equipment, scoped and built as an engineering project.

Why not just root a tablet?

Because a rooted tablet gives every app on it full control, and you have to trust all of them. On our devices the access is written into the security policy for one app: yours. It can talk to the port it needs; nothing else can, and the rest of the system stays hardened.

That is the difference between a rooted tablet and an engineered appliance. And because we maintain the operating system, the device keeps receiving security fixes after your product ships.

Check your hardware against ours.

Tell engineering what you need to connect. If it can be done, we will say how; if it cannot, we will say that too.
