Questions

Who owns the device?

We do. The $100 deployment fee covers configuring the device and getting it to you; the subscription covers the operating system, updates and support. When you cancel, you send the device back. A device returned damaged beyond normal wear is billed at $125, and one that is not returned is billed from $350.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. The subscription is month to month, with no minimum term.

Do I have to talk to sales first?

No. If you want to know whether the device will work with your hardware or your app before you order, ask engineering directly.

Does it run Google Play services?

No. Devices ship without Google Mobile Services. microG is available as a compatibility layer for apps built against Google APIs, but apps that depend on Play Integrity, which includes some banking, payment and DRM libraries, will fail that check. For your own backend, our hardware attestation does the same job and can be verified without calling us.

What if I need more than the standard build?

Privileged system apps, custom security policy for attached hardware, a contractual patch SLA and custom drivers are all available, and so are custom devices built to your specification. Start with a developer device, and talk to engineering when you know what your product needs.
